Being a leader or past leader of any of the York Rite Bodies qualifies a Companion or Sir Knight to petition the degrees associated with the chairs of High Priest, Illustrious Master, and Commander.  The only requirement for these degrees is that the Companion has to have been installed in the chair or that a Sir Knight has successfully completed his year as Commander.
