The Order of Knights Preceptor was first formed in New Jersey in 1976 by Past Grand Commander, Sir Knight Thurman C. Pace, Jr.  The purpose and objective of the Order was to promote the cause of Chivalric Masonry through a dedication of Templar Leadership to its principles, and to further the knowledge of its history, background, customs, usage, and traditions.  The organization is of a Chapter of Past Commanders.
